The Story
End-of-term meant three days of manual formatting for EduReports' partner schools. Teachers were copy-pasting grades into Word templates, one student at a time. We replaced the entire workflow with a bulk generation engine: paste the data, hit generate, download a ZIP of pixel-perfect PDFs five minutes later.
The system uses Playwright to render HTML templates into print-quality PDFs, orchestrated by Trigger.dev background jobs that scale to thousands of certificates without timing out. PII never leaves Redis — student data is stored with a short-lived UUID, rendered, then wiped automatically.
